On 26 August 2025, UNU will host “Advancing Organizational Sustainability: Experiences and Insights from UNU-FLORES”, a BIG IDEAS Dialogue with Juliane Dziumla, Associate Sustainability and Impact Officer at UNU-FLORES. This online event will be held via Zoom webinar at 18:00 JST (UTC+9).
As an institute, UNU-FLORES is focused on implementing sustainability in practice, turning commitments into tangible action. UNU-FLORES is working to embed sustainability into operations, define clear objectives and establish measurable indicators to track progress. A key focus of this process is staff engagement, emphasizing awareness-raising, training and opportunities for participation to foster a culture of shared responsibility.
Ms. Juliane Dziumla will join UNU Senior Vice-Rector Prof. Sawako Shirahase to explore how organizations can combine strategic planning, measurement and inclusive participation to move beyond policy statements, and create meaningful environmental and social impact while building a culture that supports long-term sustainability goals.
