Professor Brenda S.A. Yeoh is a Singaporean scholar and expert in the fields of migration, social geography, and the politics of space in colonial and post-colonial cities.
She is Raffles Professor of Social Sciences at the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore (NUS); Research Leader of the Asian Migration Cluster at the NUS Asia Research Institute; and Director of Humanities & Social Science Research at the NUS Office of the Deputy President of Research and Technology.
Prof. Yeoh is editor of Asian Population Studies and currently sits on several editorial advisory boards. She is a member of the International Geographical Union’s Population Geography Commission.
She has published extensively in these fields, including the co-authored books Contested Memoryscapes: The Politics of Second World War Commemoration in Singapore (Routledge, 2016), Asian Migrants and Religious Experience: From Missionary Journeys to Labor Mobility (Amsterdam University Press, 2018), and Handbook of Asian Migrations (Routledge, 2018), as well as book chapters, articles in internationally refereed journals, and research reports.
