Era Poudel is a Research Assistant in the REC² Cluster of Excellence at UNU-FLORES.

Era Poudel is an early-career researcher whose work connects sustainable finance, resource management, and energy transitions. She holds an M.Sc. in Management and Technology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), with specialisations in Finance and Accounting and in Sustainable Energies, and a bilingual B.B.A. in Business Administration and Management from the University of Almería, Spain. For her master's thesis, dual-supervised by UNU-FLORES and the TUM Chair of Energy Markets, she assessed the environmental and social frameworks of eight multilateral development banks and developed a Resource Nexus-informed model to refine their investment risk assessment. Her earlier project work spans renewable energy teaching material development for pre-university students in Ghana, off-grid energy deployment modelling for an Amazonian community in Peru, and applied analysis of decarbonization strategies for private sector firms. She has taught across Nepal, India, Spain, and Germany, and is fluent in English, Nepali, Spanish, and Hindi while working on her German. She also brings private-sector experience in sales and corporate finance within the electronics industry.
At UNU-FLORES, Era is a Research Assistant with the REC² Cluster of Excellence, "Responsible Electronics in the Climate Change Era," funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Her work centres on the economic dimension of responsible electronics, examining how economic and institutional arrangements can support more sustainable and accountable electronics value chains. She also supports the Institute's teaching, capacity development, and science-communication activities.
