Mitsuo Kojima is Representative Director at MetLife Asset Management Corp. (Japan) and former Board Member and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd.

Mr. Kojima has many years of experience managing international security investment at several global asset management companies such as Goldman Sachs and Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management. In November 2020, he joined Affirmative Investment Management (AIM) as an impact bonds-dedicated Fixed Income Manager, and was appointed President and Representative Director of AIM Japan. Previously, he was Representative Director of Lombard Odier in Tokyo, a private bank headquartered in Switzerland where he promoted ESG investment.

Mr. Kojima joined Lombard Odier in Tokyo as a Senior Advisor in March 2014, and in July 2014 he was appointed Representative Director of Lombard Odier in Tokyo. Before that, he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) from 2006 as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income and FX Management Department at the Tokyo office, and was a Board Member of GSAM Japan during 2007–2013.

Having joined Mitsui Life Insurance Co., Ltd. in April 1982, Mr. Kojima worked from 1986 in the International Investment Division of the International Department, London Office, and as Director of the Pension Management Division of the Special Account Management Department. In 1999 he was appointed Chief Fund Manager of the Mitsui Life Global Asset Management (MLG) Bond Group, responsible for both domestic and overseas fixed income, currencies, and asset allocation. In 2002, after a merger of five companies including MLG to form Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management, he became Chief Investment Officer of the domestic and foreign fixed income division.

Mr. Kojima holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Sophia University.
