As part of the Instituteโs 20th anniversary celebrations in Kuala Lumpur, UNU Global Health and UCSI University signed a new five-year agreement to strengthen collaboration across education, research and capacity building, bringing together their expertise to advance science diplomacy, science policy, innovation, global health and sustainable development.
The partnership will support collaboration in the ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐น๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ and ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ & ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป programmes, including academic contributions from UNU Global Health, joint training, postgraduate research supervision and opportunities for collaborative research and policy engagement. It will also create new avenues for students, researchers and faculty to work across institutional and disciplinary boundaries on complex global and regional challenges.

The launch of the Master of Science in Diplomacy marks an important step in preparing a new generation of leaders who can navigate an increasingly interconnected and complex world. Prof. Emeritus Datuk Ts Ir Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, FASc, President and Vice-Chancellor of UCSI University, stated: โThe signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between UCSI and UNU Global Health marks an important step. We see this not simply as a formal agreement, but as the beginning of a partnership that we hope will grow over time. There is much we can explore together, from joint research and policy dialogue to capacity building, knowledge exchange and regional engagement.โ
UNU Global Health also extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Ts. Dr. Lionel In, Director of the International Institute of Science Diplomacy & Sustainability (IISDS) at UCSI University, and Prof. Tan Sri Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid, Founder Chairman at IISDS, whose support and leadership were instrumental in making this agreement possible.
This milestone marks a new chapter in the partnership between UNU Global Health and UCSI University, reinforcing their shared commitment to translating knowledge into action and advancing collaboration in Malaysia and beyond.
