Nyaruai Theuri is a PhD candidate at Kyoto University's Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (GSAIS), working at the intersection of international public policy, health and vulnerable populations in developing countries.
Her doctoral research examines Africa's COVID-19 pandemic response and proposes a framework for proactive pandemic preparedness. Her broader interest is in how policy design and institutional response shape outcomes for populations already carrying structural disadvantage.
