Through a cooperation between Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), and UNU-FLORES from 2019 to 2021 the foundation for such a chair has been established in phase 1 of the project by developing study classes as well as providing training for university lecturers.

To establish the new chair and to bring an advanced stream on Sustainability and Textile Innovation for the bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering to full operation, the activities of curriculum development and implementation, training of university staff and industry suppliers as well as promotion of scientific research are planned to be intensified until 2024.
