The Dresden International Forum 2025 will be held under the theme “From Conflicts to Cooperation: The Resource Nexus as a Pathway to Peace and Prosperity in Africa.” This forum is part of the Dresden Nexus Conference “The Future of Resources - Resources for the Future,” taking place from April 8-10, 2025. The global Resource Nexus community will gather to discuss integrated approaches to environmental resource management in research, education, capacity building, and practice.
DNC 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Dresden Nexus Conference, which began in 2015 with a focus on Nexus approaches to Global Change and the SDGs. This year’s conference aligns with the United Nations’ mission to develop a post-2030 agenda for sustainable development, initiated by the Summit of the Future (2024) and the Pact for the Future. DNC 2025 will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of United Nations University, with UNU Rector and UN Under-Secretary-General Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala among the guests of honor.
Participation in the evening event is free of charge. The Dresden Forum for International Politics is organized by the Development and Peace Foundation (sef:), UNU-FLORES, the Frauenkirche Foundation, and the Center for International Studies at the Technical University of Dresden.
