WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Are you convinced that your work in science or technology will help prevent military conflicts, support people suffering from the consequences of war, or make societies resilient to war propaganda and cyber war? Do you enjoy telling others about your science, and are you excited by the challenge of speaking in front of a large audience? Then present your research project at the Science Slam in Dresden’s Frauenkirche. We look forward to receiving applications from a wide variety of disciplines and are curious to see why your research in particular should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
TAKE PART ON STAGE
Apply with your topic as a slammer at SCIENCE4PEACE on 14 November 2025.
As a slammer, you have exactly ten minutes to inspire the audience with your questions, insights, and discoveries. Being creative, entertaining and humorous pays off, because the viewers decide who goes home a winner!
Convince the audience with your way of demonstrating complex scientific issues. In addition to eternal fame, great prizes and an unforgettable evening under the dome of the Frauenkirche await all participants.
LOCATION OF THE EVENT
With its history and symbolic significance, the Frauenkirche Dresden is the perfect place to talk about the connections between science and technology, and war and peace. Without scientific research in numerous disciplines, the reconstruction of the Frauenkirche post-WWII would not have been possible.
Today, the Frauenkirche stands as a world-renowned place of encounter and a symbol of peace. In the midst of Dresden’s science venues, we want to highlight and promote the synergies of science and peace work. For this reason, the Frauenkirche Foundation, the Technische Sammlungen Dresden, and the United Nations University (UNU-FLORES) are jointly inviting you to the SCIENCE4PEACE Slam for the third time.
