The United Nations University – Operating Unit on Policy-driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) will host the seminar "Working Smarter with AI Assistants: A Practical Guide to Prompting and Beyond" with Manuel Rodrigues (Algoritmi Centre, University of Minho), on 23 March 2026, from 11:00 to 12:00 (Lisbon time).

Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistants represent both a significant opportunity and a growing challenge for public institutions and administrations at all levels of governance. In response to this evolving landscape, this seminar introduces key principles of prompt engineering and outlines good practices for the effective and responsible use of AI resources in practical public-sector contexts.

Manuel Rodrigues is a Researcher at the Algoritmi Research Centre / LASI, University of Minho, Portugal. His research focuses on intelligent systems, machine learning, explainable AI, and the application of large language models in education, public administration, and industry.

He leads and participates in projects exploring RAG-based conversational systems, digital twins, and ethical AI frameworks, and regularly supervises master's and doctoral students in these areas.
