UNU-EGOV on Digital Inclusion at COMEX Oman

UNU-EGOV highlighted global digital inclusion and the role of public-private partnerships in bridging the digital divide.

The Sultanate of Oman hosted the 33rd edition of COMEX, a key event promoting cutting-edge digital solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, the metaverse, IoT, cybersecurity, and fintech. 

Recognized as a regional leader in digital governance and innovation, Oman invited UNU-EGOV to contribute to the conference through its Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. Representing UNU-EGOV, Saleem Zoughbi delivered a keynote address on promoting digital inclusion globally and bridging the digital divide, emphasizing the complementary roles of the public and private sectors. His intervention also offered a comparative review of international frameworks and indicators for measuring digital inclusion. In addition to his participation at COMEX, Saleem also represented UNU-EGOV at the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) observer member meeting.
