UNU-EGOV brings AI4PA Activities to Guimarães

The initiative explored how municipal public servants perceive Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on everyday life.

The United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), in collaboration with the Municipality of Guimarães, developed the Artificial Intelligence & Data Science for Public Administration Portugal Innovation Hub (AI4PA) project in Guimarães. The initiative explored how municipal public servants perceive Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on everyday life.

The activities began with a survey to municipal employees, which received 150 responses and examined levels of knowledge, trust and comfort regarding the use of AI in the municipal context.

In parallel, UNU-EGOV delivered a ten-hour capacity-development programme covering four modules: “Digital Transformation and AI”, “Responsible AI”, “AI Impact”, and “AI in Practice (Hands-on)”. The first two modules were conducted online, with some sessions attended by more than 200 participants.

This initiative follows a similar one carried out with the Municipality of Matosinhos earlier this year.

About the AI4PA
