Garima Agarwal is a Research Fellow at UNU-EGOV, supported by the Harvard Kennedy School Women and Public Policy Program’s Cultural Bridge Fellowship. Her expertise lies at the intersection of urban policy, digital public infrastructure, and inclusion, with a focus on how labour and employment of women
She has worked on urban programmes related to equitable urban development and disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction. Her research experience lies in the domain of women’s livelihoods, and digital and financial inclusion. A key focus area has been behaviourally informed urban governance, and she has also designed and piloted an interactive board game on accessibility and inclusive city governance.
Previously, Garima worked with the Inclusive Cities Centre at the National Institute of Urban Affairs, under India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Her role involved collaborations with public and private sector partners including UN Women, UNICEF, CDRI, and Dalberg.
She was a presenter at UN-India and CEEW’s YouthSabha 2024 and has presented her research in national and international conferences like GIM’s 3rd International Labour Conference.
Garima is currently pursuing a Master in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal.
