Aatralarasi Saravanan is a Doctoral Researcher in the Joint PhD Programme in Integrated Management of Water, Soil, and Waste between Technische Universität Dresden and UNU-FLORES.

Aatralarasi is working on the topic “Climate Change and Water Availability in data-scarce regions – Advancing the Nexus of Water-Soil-Atmosphere by a combination of Remote Sensing and Modelling”, her research focuses on investigating the spatial pattern of rainfall indicators and irrigation using remote sensing. Through her research, she will develop a Decision Support System for climate change adaptation of cropping systems in semi-arid regions, including irrigation. Before joining UNU FLORES, Aatralarasi worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the research project “Towards Climate Resilient Livestock Production system in Punjab”. Her primary research interest is to develop climate-resilient techniques to manage hydrometeorological hazards in the face of climate change.
