An AI-supported learning platform for international audiences is a central component of the WIR recyceln Fasern (WIRreFa) initiative, loosely translated as "WE recycle fibres". The initiative aims to close material cycles for fibre-containing waste in the Elbe Valley region of Saxony and to strengthen circular resource use in the construction sector. The project CarbonConcreteAI will develop a comprehensive approach for using the AI-supported learning platform to deliver knowledge on carbon-concrete and circular construction in international settings.

State-of-the-art knowledge, currently largely available in German, is structured into didactically designed modular learning units that can be accessed through an AI-supported learning platform. Guided by pedagogical approaches, international accessibility and engagement are enabled through adaptive learning pathways, automated translation, and user-oriented content delivery.

A key component is the analysis and structuring of relevant stakeholder groups, particularly focusing on vocational education, professional training, and capacity development for practitioners. The project further evaluates how AI-supported tools can support both teaching and self-directed learning, ensuring that users from international audiences can engage with the platform beyond formal training settings.

During the pilot phase, the functionality, usability, and effectiveness of the approach will be assessed with small groups of international users. Based on this, the approach will be refined and consolidated into an implementation guideline for scaling up the use of the AI-supported learning platform. Through this, the project contributes to advancing digital learning approaches in sustainable construction and promotes innovative, resource-efficient building practices.
