Canadian Minister of Environment and Climate Change visits UNU-INRA

UNU-INRA staff welcomes Canadian Minister, Hon. Steven Guilbeault, in Accra, Ghana.

The staff of UNU-INRA welcomed a delegation from Canada led by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Steven Guilbeault, on 24th May 2022. The meeting comes as part of an official visit to Ghana, which included a visit to the University of Ghana, Legon campus.

 

The meeting featured presentations on UNU-INRA's research on stranded assets, just transitions and the informal sector. After the presentations, there was a brief discussion on pressing issues such as the current state of international climate finance for developing countries in which Hon. Steven Guilbeault revealed that Canada has doubled its commitment to $5.3 billion over 5 years.
