Joint Junior Researcher Programme (Doctoral Dissertation)

Objective

UNU-FLORES offers a doctoral programme with Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) under the Joint Junior Researcher Programme (JJRP). Successful candidates will have the opportunity to conduct research for a doctoral thesis on advancing a Resource Nexus approach on the sustainable management of environmental resources under the guidance of experts at UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden. Selected doctoral candidates will enrol at TU Dresden. Upon completion of the doctoral dissertation, early-career scientists will be able to apply the Resource Nexus approach in the sustainable management of resources that are of concern to the United Nations and its Member States, particularly in countries of the Global South.

Criteria

The qualifications of ideal candidates will be defined in vacancy announcements that will be posted on our website. Please note that the language of instruction at UNU-FLORES is English.

Note: The applicant needs a final master’s grade of 2.5 or better (German grading system) to meet the minimum requirement of a successful application. Applications that do not meet this minimum requirement or do not provide a grade conversion to the German grading system will be automatically rejected without any notification. Please consult the grade conversion formula.

Duration

The successful candidate shall complete the doctoral dissertation within the funding period. This information is specified in the respective vacancy announcement.
