On 21 March 2025, UNU will host “Sustainability Strategies for a Better Future”, a conversation with Dr. Eva Kraus, the Artistic Director of the Bundeskunsthalle (the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany). This event will start at 18:30 in the 2F Reception Hall at UNU Headquarters in Tokyo.

Sustainability has become a defining challenge of our time, requiring urgent action from governments, institutions and individuals. Since The Limits to Growth report (1972) commissioned by the Club of Rome, public discussions on our planetary limits have intensified, highlighting the risks of environmental degradation and climate change. Today, the need for strategies to ensure sustainability is more critical than ever, particularly for younger and future generations.

Dr. Eva Kraus will join UNU Rector Tshilidzi Marwala for a discussion on sustainability strategies for a better future. How can we reduce carbon emissions to combat climate change? What strategies can be used to restore degraded land and promote sustainable land use? How can we effectively preserve natural resources, biodiversity, and cultural heritage?

The UNU Conversation Series aims to foster audience participation; you are encouraged to engage with the speakers during the conversation and at the reception that will follow, where all event attendees are invited to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks while exchanging ideas and making new contacts.

Please note that this event will be in English. Advance registration (by 20 March at 15:00) is required. Please click on the REGISTER button above to access the online registration page.

Please be prepared to present identification at check-in.
