Accepting Applications: UNU-WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowships and Visiting Scholars

UNU-WIDER is accepting applications until 30 September for its Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme and Visiting Scholars Programme.

The UNU World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) is accepting applications until 30 September (23:59, UTC+3) for its Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme and Visiting Scholars Programme.

The Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme gives registered doctoral students an opportunity to utilize the resources and facilities at UNU-WIDER for their PhD dissertation or thesis research on developing economies, and to work with UNU-WIDER researchers in areas of mutual interest.

Visiting PhD fellows typically spend three consecutive months at UNU-WIDER before returning to their home institution. In 2022 the programme aims to be in-person but might move online or hybrid depending on the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. During the programme, fellows prepare one or more research papers and present a seminar on their research findings. They may also have the opportunity to publish their research in the UNU-WIDER Working Paper Series.

For full Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme information and and application details, see the UNU-WIDER website.

The Visiting Scholars Programme gives qualified scholars an opportunity to research topics related to development and/or global economic issues, and to participate in UNU-WIDER activities. Scholars typically spend a 2–3-month 'sabbatical' at UNU-WIDER. During this time they prepare one or more papers to be considered for publication in the UNU-WIDER Working Paper Series, and present a seminar in their field of research.

For full Visiting Scholars Programme information and and application details, see the UNU-WIDER website.
