Sharon Ogwindo is a Legal Affairs Associate in the Office of the Rector.
Prior to joining UNU, Sharon worked as a Legal Specialist at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Nairobi, Kenya, where she reviewed legal agreements and instruments, undertook research on various matters affecting the organization and assisted in drafting submissions and responses in defense of the organization in cases filed by staff members before the United Nations Dispute Tribunal.
At UNU, Sharon supports the Senior Legal Office in the review, negotiation and drafting of legal agreements, as well as in legal analysis and research, drafting and reviewing legal opinions, briefs and reports on various issues within the scope of the operational and administrative activities of UNU, including contractual and legal issues pertaining to donor funding, contract implementation, intellectual property rights, labour relations, and the privileges and immunities of UNU and its personnel.
Sharon was admitted to the Kenyan bar in 2018. She holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
