Aatralarasi Saravanan is a Doctoral Researcher in the Joint PhD Programme in Integrated Management of Water, Soil, and Waste between Technische Universität Dresden and UNU Resource Nexus.
Aatralarasi is working on the topic “Climate Change and Water Availability in data-scarce regions – Advancing the Nexus of Water-Soil-Atmosphere by a combination of Remote Sensing and Modelling”, her research focuses on investigating the spatial pattern of rainfall indicators and irrigation using remote sensing. Through her research, she will develop a Decision Support System for climate change adaptation of cropping systems in semi-arid regions, including irrigation. Before joining UNU Resource Nexus, Aatralarasi worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the research project “Towards Climate Resilient Livestock Production system in Punjab”. Her primary research interest is to develop climate-resilient techniques to manage hydrometeorological hazards in the face of climate change.
