Malaysia's Response to a Changing Global Health Landscape

On Monday, 27 July 2026, the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU Global Health) brought together various stakeholders from government ministries, academia, and civil society to discuss Malaysia’s strategic role in international and regional health governance. As part of a broader research initiative with the Center for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) under the Asian Collective for Health Systems (TACHS), the dialogue focused on how Malaysia can navigate a changing and complex global health landscape, and strengthen international health cooperation in ways that may benefit health in Malaysia and across the ASEAN region.

This is a summary of the key points from the scene-setting presentations, followed by a synthesis of the main themes that emerged during the subsequent discussions.
