Carlo is part of the Joint PhD Programme of UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden.
Carlo is part of the Joint Junior Research Programme of UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden. His current research focuses on smart infrastructure and its role in improving water security and climate adaptation. Before joining UNU-FLORES, Carlo worked as a project engineer in the infrastructure arm of the Philippine government, where he introduced new technologies and methods to enhance public project construction.
He also conducted a study on the importance of governance and social acceptance in the transition to smart transportation, which he presented at the World Smart City Expo in Korea. Carlo actively participates in international conferences to develop solutions for combating climate change in Southeast Asia. He is passionate about advancing infrastructure technology without compromising society's well-being and environmental sustainability.
