Yan Sun is a Consultant in the Office of the Rector
Yan supports the Programme Officer and Council and Administrative Officer in a broad range of activities supporting the Office. He manages the planning, logistics and coordination of student workshops hosted by the Rector’s Office, engaging high school and university students in thematic workshops and seminars, providing an introduction to the United Nations system, and planning model UN simulation exercises.
Additionally, Yan works with the Council and Administrative Officer to provide financial and administrative support for the Office of the Rector, and supports the Office in institutional development activities, particularly in China.
Yan holds dual master’s degrees — a Master’s Degree in International Accounting from Tohoku University in Japan, and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Northeast Normal University in China. He also holds a Certified Public Accountant certification in the United States and is a certified professional fitness trainer accredited by the American Council on Exercise. Yan is fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese. Prior to joining UNU, he worked in a variety of roles for two major international Chinese banks. In addition to his professional work, Yan is passionate about photography and fitness coaching.
