Jan Orbie is a part-time Professorial Fellow at UNU-CRIS. He is involved in the GREMLIN project on Global and Regional Multistakeholder Institutions, with specific attention for the involvement of civil society organisations in EU trade policies. .

Jan Orbie is also an Associate Professor in European Union (EU) External Relations at the Department of Political Science and at the Ghent Centre for Global Studies at Ghent University (Belgium). He teaches on Theories of European and Regional Integration, Discourse Analysis, EU External Relations and EU Trade Politics. Jan Orbie’s research concerns the external relations of the EU, with particular interest in critical and normative perspectives on EU external trade, social and development policies. He is also a member of the editorial board of the European Foreign Affairs Review.
