Domenico Valenza is a PhD Fellow with UNU-CRIS label since January 2019.

In his project, Domenico maps and analyses European Union’s external policies in the field of culture (arts, education, tourism, cultural heritage, inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue) and related financial instruments (Partnership Instrument, European Neighborhood Instrument, Erasmus+, etc.) in the post-Soviet space. A comparative approach is also adopted by reviewing Russia’s cultural actions in the region.

Prior to joining UNU-CRIS, Domenico worked at No Peace Without Justice (NPWJ) as Programme Officer in Brussels and Dakar, Senegal, and at the College of Europe, Bruges, as Senior Academic Assistant. His mother tongue is Italian and he speaks English, French and Russian.
