Christopher Hobson was a Visiting Research Fellow at UNU-ISP.
Christopher Hobson is an Assistant Professor in the School of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at UNU-ISP, where he is contributing to the Fukushima Global Communication Program. He currently has two main areas of research: (1) democracy and international relations; (2) human security and natural disasters, with a focus on the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident.
Dr Hobson previously worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainability and Peace, United Nations University (2010 – 2013); and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University (2008 – 2010). He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of International Politics from The University of Melbourne, and a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from the Australian National University.
