Carla Canelas is a Research Fellow at the World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University (UNU-WIDER). Her research interests include applied micro-econometrics, public policy analysis, social security systems, and labour economics. Prior to joining WIDER, Carla held a teaching and research position at the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne - University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne where she was involved in research on consumer behaviour, labour, and development economics. Carla did her graduate studies at the Paris School of Economics and the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne in Paris, France and she got her PhD in 2014.
