Andrés Ángel is a transdisciplinary professional interested in promoting the strengthening of sustainability concepts within the biophysical boundaries of our planet.

He is also interested in environmental justice, the study of social metabolisms and materials, and energy transition policies. At UNU-FLORES, Andrés is the Project Coordinator of the project "Sustainable Transformation in Coal Regions of the Global South: Challenges from a Resource Nexus Perspective (NEXtra Core)". He has experience as researcher and consultant for communities, public entities, and civil society organisations on the socioecological impacts of the extractive sector in Latin America and as coordinator of outreach and advocacy strategies in several countries.
