Urban climate co-benefits approach refers to the development and implementation of initiatives that simultaneously contribute to tackling climate change and solving local environmental and developmental problems in cities. The final goal of this project was to understand how to promote urban co-benefits more effectively and develop evaluation tools to boost the potential to produce co-benefits in five sectors (transport, waste, energy, buildings and land use). The project was based on empirical research on co-benefits in five countries (Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and Japan) under the cooperation of research partners in those countries.
