UNU-GEST offers a number of short courses and on-site training to build capacity in developing countries and post-conflict areas. Currently, the design and offer of short courses is under review.
In 2013 a course on gender and climate change in Uganda with the objective of building knowledge and understanding of the causes of climate change and its impact on development and gender relations was developed for and held in Uganda. This five-day short training course was piloted in Uganda and evaluated in 2013. Based on the same approach, short courses on gender-based violence, justice and the law, gender-responsive budgeting, women’s entrepreneurship training and institutional capacity building are offered by UNU-GEST upon request.
UNU-GEST has a collaborative agreement with the gender office at the ILO International Training Centre in Turin in Italy, which serves as a platform for jointly offering short courses in the field of gender.
