The UNU Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), with support from the Economic Policies Research Unit (NIPE), is organising the 14th Workshop on Preparing for Extreme And Rare events in coastal regions (PEARL). The workshop will be held at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, on 28–29 September 2017.
PEARL is a network of researchers and research institutions that operate in the field of applied public economics and public finance. Its focus is on subnational governments and the relationships between local, state, and federal institutions. PEARL aims to gather expertise from different countries and from different fields of economic analysis (econometrics, public finance and public choice, local and regional economics, macroeconomics).
The 14th PEARL Workshop invites submissions of papers on (but not limited to) the following subjects:
UNU-EGOV and NIPE will cover expenses for accommodation and meals during the workshop for authors whose papers have been accepted. (In the case of a joint paper, only one author will be covered for the above-mentioned expenses.) Travel expenses are covered by the participants themselves.
Full papers must be sent by 31 May 2017. Decisions will be made by 30 June 2017.
