The Global Mountain Safeguard Research (GLOMOS) programme, together with Eurac Research, invites scientists, researchers, and students to submit an application to present their research at the 1st Global Mountain Sustainability Forum, which will be held on 5–6 October 2020 in Sexten/Sesto, Italy. The theme of this year’s forum is “Sustainability Governance: International Frameworks and Local Contributions”.

Abstracts (of no more than 350 words) should include the specific research question and the theoretical and methodological approach (and, where applicable, the data used). Interdisciplinary topics are particularly welcome. The deadline for submission is 15 June 2020.

The presentation topic should be relevant to one of the following four thematic sessions:

    1. Global developments and critical issues in sustainability in mountain regions
    2. Natural resources and sustainability in mountains
    3. Tourism and sustainability in mountains
    4. Sustainable governance in mountain regions – potential and limitations of possible solutions

Successful authors will be asked to prepare:

    • a two-minutes “Elevator Presentation” for the audience and
    • a poster showcasing the research to facilitate a more-detailed small group discussion.

Note that it will be possible for presenters to participate in the conference online as well as in person.

For more information, please see the GMS Forum website.

GLOMOS is a collaborative programme and scientific alliance between the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and Eurac Research based in Bolzano, Italy.
