A one-week Doctoral School on Latin American, European and Comparative Regionalism will be held in Quito, Ecuador, from 8–12 July 2013. The deadline to apply is 31 May.
This bilingual (English–Spanish) doctoral school will bring together PhD students and other young researchers for a series of lectures by leading senior academics in the field of Latin American, European and comparative regionalism. Participants will also discuss their research projects in tutorial sessions.
The doctoral school is being jointly organized by the UNU Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) and Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank, OBREAL, the Latin American Trade Network, the German Institute of Global and Area Studies, and the University of Barcelona. It is intended mainly for doctoral students from any social science sub-discipline currently involved in a research project dealing with Latin American regionalism or comparative regionalism.
This doctoral school seeks to establish a new network of researchers dealing with regionalism, based at universities and other research institutions all over Latin America and beyond.
Participants will receive a certificate from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar/UNU-CRIS that may be used to satisfy requirements of the doctoral training programmes in the participants’ home universities.
