The UNU Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) is now accepting applications for this year’s Intensive Summer Course “Advancing Disaster Risk Reduction to Enhance Sustainable Development in a Changing World“. The course will run from 8–19 May 2017.
The two-week Intensive Summer Course aims to increase awareness regarding the complexity and importance of vulnerability and resilience in the field of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. Aimed at a diverse audience of advanced master’s students, doctoral candidates, and field practitioners, the course explores topics ranging from the role of human mobility to early warning systems and effective disaster coordination. The course combines a series of seminars with practice-oriented simulation exercises that are led by UN experts and practitioners.
Applications are open until 31 March 2017.
