Paul Diederen is deputy secretary and director of the Dutch Advisory Council for Science and Technology Policy (AWT) in The Hague, the Netherlands. He is also working as a senior researcher at UNU Maastricht Economic and Social Research and Training Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), Maastricht University.
Previously he has held research and management jobs at the Agricultural Economics Research Institute in The Hague. He worked as a senior researcher at the Warwick Business School Research Bureau of Warwick University, United Kingdom. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Maastricht University and an M.A. in econometrics from the University of Amsterdam.
His research interests focus on policy issues in the area of economics of science, innovation and new technology.
