Thiago Elert Soares is a Partnerships & Research Assistant at UNU-FLORES. His professional background includes experience in consultancy and the public sector. Before joining UNU-FLORES, he worked on poverty alleviation and development policies for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Rwanda and as a consultant in public policy and strategy for Barral M Jorge & Associates in Brazil. Previously, he joined the trainee programme at the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations in Geneva (Delbrasgen) and completed an internship at the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC, US. Thiago holds a MSc in Development Studies as a Chevening and Lemann Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Master of Public Policy (MPP) as a DAAD Helmut-Schmidt scholar from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, and a BA in International Relations from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Brazil with a semester abroad at the University of Paris Nanterre.
