On 10 November 2016, the UNU Institute on Computing and Society (UNU-CS) will hold the one-day “Women IN ICT Workshop: Exploring Challenges, Envisioning Solutions” at UNU-CS in Macau.
The workshop will bring together scholars, policymakers, NGO representatives, HR managers, and women information and communications technology (ICT) entrepreneurs to share research and experience on Women IN ICT recruitment and retention challenges in East Asia from three aspects: 1) perceived lack of employable female candidates, 2) unconscious cultural attitudes of gender stereotyping by employers and in the workplace, and 3) work–life balance issues for women in the ICT sector.
Panel and group discussions will explore these challenges in the morning session, and address them with innovative solutions in the afternoon session.
The workshop is free and will include refreshments and lunch plus a closing drink reception.
