As in previous years, the UNU Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) will be part of the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) 2017, which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 12–16 June. The WSIS Forum represents the world’s largest annual gathering of the “ICT for development” community, and is a global multi-stakeholder platform facilitating the implementation of the WSIS Action Lines for advancing sustainable development. The forum provides an opportunity for information exchange, knowledge creation, and sharing of best practices, while identifying emerging trends and fostering partnerships, taking into account the evolving Information and Knowledge Societies.
The workshop, titled “ICT-driven Innovation and Its Impact on Smart Governance and Finance Management Systems”, will be jointly organised by UNU-EGOV and ARCTEL (Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries — CPLP). The workshop will focus on two main topics: (1) E-governance for Sustainable Development and (2) Social Innovation Through ICT: the SMART Experiments.
For more information, or to register, see the event announcement on the UNU-EGOV website.
