On 27 October 2015, the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will host an International Workshop on On-the-Job Research Capacity Building Programme for Food Security and Environmental Conservation in Developing Countries (OJCB).
OJCB is a UNU-IAS initiative which supports capacity building through on-the-job training for young researchers, proposed and implemented by leading scientists in developing countries.
The initiative aims to increase agricultural productivity through innovation, strengthen research capacity and build networks for cooperation between researchers, and ultimately contribute towards ensuring food security and environmental conservation in developing countries. It is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, and coordinated by UNU-IAS.
