One of major research and policy challenges in the field of sustainable development is the agreement of the post-2015 development agenda. At the 2012 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), governments agreed on a process to develop Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrate them into the post-2015 development agenda.
This workshop, co-organized by the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), the Earth System Governance Project, and the POST2015 project, will bring together international scholars and practitioners with expertise on global environmental governance to discuss key questions relating to the governance of, and for, the post-2015 development agenda.
The aim of the workshop will be to provide input into the ongoing international policy process on the SDGs with particular focus on how integrated SDGs (of the development and environmental agenda) could be governed in the post-2015 era. The outcomes of this workshop will be published as a policy report.
This invitation-only workshop will be held in New York City, back-to-back with the 8th Session of the Open Working Group on SDGs.
