An international symposium on 18 March 2019 will introduce the outcomes of a new policy research project on Development Strategy for Urban Sustainability in Africa on the Basis of SDGs Interlinkage Analysis. The aim of this project is to propose innovative solutions for implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) in sub-Saharan Africa.
This symposium is being co-organised by the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Integrated Research System for Sustainability Science (IR3S) at the University of Tokyo, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), and the Sustainability Science Consortium (SSC). Its objectives are to share research findings, prioritised solutions, and key tradeoffs, and to identify synergies with other SDGs from the three target countries (Ghana, Malawi, and South Africa).
The event will be held in English only. No interpretation will be provided.
For more information, or to register to attend, please see the symposium announcement on the UNU-IAS website.
