On 24 January 2015 the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability will host the International Symposium on Sustainability Science: Creation of a Sustainable Society in Harmony with Nature in Tokyo. The symposium will explore insights from sustainability science on the transition to a green economy, and its role in achieving a sustainable society in balance with nature.
The symposium will feature a keynote speech by Sir Partha Sarathi Dasgupta (Professor Emeritus, University of Cambridge) and plenary speeches by Abdul Hamid Zakri (Chair, Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services, IPBES), Harold Mooney (Professor, Stanford University) and other leading experts.
This event will be co-organized by UNU-IAS, the Sustainability Science Consortium and the Integrated Research System for Sustainability Science of The University of Tokyo, and supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
Simultaneous Japanese–English interpretation will be provided at this symposium.
