The UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will organise the side event “Contributions of Funding Mechanisms Under the Satoyama Initiative to Mainstreaming Biodiversity for Well-being” at the 13th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 13). The event will provide insight into how funding mechanisms can effectively contribute toward mainstreaming biodiversity through supporting actions for sustainable management of production landscapes and seascapes.

This event will explore several funding models that have been established through collaborative activities under the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI), from seed funding for promising local projects to combining GEF financing for site-based activities with the production and management of knowledge at a global scale.

For more information, see the event announcement on the UNU-IAS website.
