At the July Nexus Seminar, Dr Jonathan Clive Morris of TU Dresden will lecture on “Identifying the Challenges of Water Sustainability in Environmental and Social Management”.
With the fear of increased water scarcity and demand for freshwater resources, businesses are seeking to devise and implement sustainability actions that will minimise their exposure and risk, as well as enable them to act in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. In managing water resources from a corporate perspective, not just the actions of the firm that must be considered, but also the relationships between the firm and suppliers. The “hidden” water consumption that exists within company operations must be uncovered.
Dr Morris conducted research that explored sustainability reporting disclosures from 50 companies listed on the London-based FTSE 100 index, supplemented by interviews with brewing companies in the UK, to assess how corporate social responsibility practices (CSR) practices are being reflected and implemented.
This lecture is part of the Nexus Seminar Series, jointly organisedd by UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden.
