The Sultanate of Oman — located in the southeastern part of the Arab semi-peninsula — has an advanced telecommunications infrastructure with a mobile penetration rate of 159.2%. The Information Technology Authority (ITA) is the government entity overseeing Oman’s e-government initiatives, and one responsible for the execution of the digital Oman strategy. The Oman government represented by ITA also gives great focus to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The UNU Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) will host a seminar on Oman’s experience in aligning its e-government project with the SDGs. It will also describe some of its national projects, and how they are fulfilling the SDGs.
For more information on the seminar, or to register, see the event announcement on the UNU-EGOV website.
