Hosted by the UNU Institute for Advanced Studies, the Satoyama Initiative aims to conserve sustainable human-influenced natural environments (Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes, SEPLS) through broader global recognition of their value. The International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) comprises organizations committed to supporting SEPLS for the benefit of biodiversity and human well-being through the implementation of their respective activities.
This event will share the development of IPSI and discuss its future. It is one of a series of events that will take place in the context of the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP11) in Hyderabad, India.
