On 23 January 2015, the UNU Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) will host the special seminar Future Challenges to Environmental Risk Management. This public event will start at 10:00 AM at the UNU-INRA office in Accra, Ghana.
Professor Jakob Rhyner, UNU Vice-Rector in Europe, and Director of the UNU Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), will deliver a presentation discussing trends in environmental risk management, particularly ecosystem based solutions.
The seminar will review the current state of climate negotiations, and give particular focus to recent research and discussion on loss and damage. The presentation will conclude with an overview of the post-2015 development agenda and how future environmental risk management strategies should be integrated in the upcoming Sustainable Development Goals.
