A better understanding of what works — and what does not work — in fragile contexts is central to the success of international development efforts. As the “Report of the High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda” highlights, core challenges include both how to build peace and how to build effective, open and accountable institutions for all. Fragility also exacerbates the challenges of addressing other core goals, including sustainable development, gender equality and inclusive growth.

Drawing on research led by the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), this seminar will provide an opportunity for discussion of the issue of fragility and how the core challenges it poses can be addressed by the international development community in the post-2015 world.

Advance registration is required. Please note, however, that seating is limited, and we may not be able to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend.
