The UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and the Japan Committee for IIASA will organize the seminar Exploring Future Collaboration with the Japanese Research Community on 13 October at UNU Headquarters in Tokyo.
Founded in 1972, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is a non-governmental and international research organization based in Vienna that conducts policy-oriented research. After the easing of strained relations between the East and the West in the 1990s, IIASA began to focus its research on solving problems at the global scale, mainly in the field of systems analysis. The institute’s activities include collaborative research with Japanese research institutes.
Director General and Chief Executive Officer of IIASA, Dr. Pavel Kabat, and Deputy Director General of IIASA, Dr. Nebojsa Nakicenovic, will introduce recent research activities at IIASA and discuss possible collaboration between IIASA and the Japanese research community.
Simultaneous Japanese–English interpretation will be provided for this seminar.
